Fee Dispute Lands Prostitute and Client in Jail: Daily Police Blotter

Pacific Street Prostitution Bust

A 35-year-old woman and a 48-year-old man were arrested on prostitution charges after one of them called the cops over a dispute over payment.

The NYPD were called to Pacific Street between Classon and Franklin on a report of sexual assault just after 5:20 p.m. on March 24. 

But upon questioning, both parties agreed that no sexual assault had occurred. Rather, there had been a disagreement over payment.

The man was charged with patronizing a prostitute and the woman was charged with prostitution for allegedly agreeing to have sex for $40. 

 

Crashes and Flees 

Police are looking for a driver who drove into four parked cars and then fled on foot.

A witness told cops the driver hit the cars on Lincoln Place between Franklin and Classon at about 4:30 a.m. on March 23. Then the driver tried to drive off but couldn't, so he ran.

 

Basketball Backpack Lift

A thief stole a $200 backpack with a designer watch, clothing and cash inside from a basketball court on Bergen Street.

The two victims, a 20-year-old and 18-year-old, told police that they left their belongings in a backpack next to the court’s fence at around 4:55 p.m. to play basketball. After the game, they went to get their stuff but it was gone. The crook got away with the $200 backpack, $250 Fossil watch, $16 cash, two pairs of pants, cleats, sweatshirts, two credit cards, and a cell phone.

The theft took place between 4:45 and 5:33 p.m. on March 27. 

 

Bike Stolen (or Removed by the City)

A 32-year-old woman reported that someone stole a boys black and yellow bike worth about $350 that she had left locked on St. Johns Place between Underhill and Washington from March 7 to March 23.
