Fire Breaks Out in Prospect Heights Apartment Building

Sixty firefighters battled the top-floor blaze.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — It took 60 firefighters just under half an hour to extinguish a fourth-floor fire in the large, brick apartment building at 718 Washington Ave. late Tuesday evening, according to the Fire Department of New York (FDNY).

The fire broke out around 7:50 p.m., an FDNY spokesman told Patch, and was brought under control by 8:16 p.m.

No one was injured in the fire, the spokesman said.
