'Higher-Level Café' in the Works on Bergen Street in Weeksville
The Bagel Bomb Café won't be kosher, but it will serve sandwiches and booze and seat nearly 70, plans show.

WEEKSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A planned high-end café that will also sell alcohol is moving forward on Bergen Street.
The Bagel Bomb Café, to be located at 1524 Bergen St., is currently under construction. The business's request for a liquor license was approved last month by Community Board 8's licensing committee.
At that meeting, Bagel Bomb said it will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. seven days a week, will have a maximum capacity of 66 people, and won't have any outdoor seating.

On Tuesday, a man associated with the business confirmed its name to Patch, and described it as a "higher-level café" that will likely serve sandwiches, meats and fish, as well as alcohol. The business will not be kosher, he added.
However, the associate stressed that Bagel Bomb's menu is still being established, and declined to estimate when the business will open.
