Learn to Make a Caribbean Headdress at Free Party Friday in Lincoln Terrace Park
This Friday, Lincoln Terrace Park will host an jam-packed evening of headdress making, face painting, DJ dancing, movie watching and more.

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A free event featuring arts-and-crafts tables, anti-violence education, a live DJ set and an outdoor movie will be held Lincoln Terrace Park in Weeksville, near the neighborhood's intersection with Crown Heights and Brownsville, on Friday night.
The Aug. 12 event is a joint project of the office of State Sen. Jesse Hamilton (whose district includes Crown Heights and Weeksville), the West Indian Carnival Day Association and the Lay the Guns Down Foundation.
From 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., among other things, guests can enjoy face painting, a Carribean headpiece-making workshop run by the Carnival Day Association, a free fitness class, a DJ'd dance party and a presentation from anti-violence activists with the No GunSmoke School Tour.
Then, at 8:30 p.m., the park will host a free outdoor showing of Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb.
The event is open to attendees of all ages.
