Malcolm X's Daughter Found Dead In Brooklyn Home: Report

Malikah Shabazz, 56, was found late Monday night. Police do not believe her death was suspicious, according to reports.

BROOKLYN, NY — Malikah Shabazz, the daughter of the late Malcolm X, has been found dead in her Brooklyn, according to reports.

Shabazz, 56, was found dead Monday night in her home on East 28th Street by her 23-year-old daughter Bettih-Bahiyah Shabazz, according to the Daily News.

Shabazz and her twin, Malaak, were the youngest of six daughters between Malcolm X and wife Betty Shabazz.

Police told the outlet they do not believe her death was suspicious.

Her death comes days after a Manhattan judge exonerated Muhammad Aziz and the late Khalil Islam, two of the men convicted in Malcolm X's killing. Prosecutors and lawyers for the two men said evidence from a renewed investigation showed they were not involved in the 1965 killing.

Aziz and Islam had maintained their innocence since Malcolm X's death at Upper Manhattan's Audubon Ballroom.
