PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — Acclaimed barbecue spot, Morgan's Barbecue, will finally reopen nearly two years after a devastating fire forced it to close.

"WE ARE BACK!!" read a post on the restaurant's instagram page Wednesday, "Join us for our grand reopening at 5pm!"

In January 2021, a fire decimated Morgan’s and the building above the restaurant. FDNY officials said the blaze started in the ducts above the smoker.

It took firefighters nearly two hours to smite the blaze, and no injuries were reported.

Back in September, owner Mathew Glazier told Brooklyn Patch about the struggles of reopening — and the changes he made to the space and the menu.

Glazier not only kept nearly his entire culinary team during the 18-month closure, but even restored the fire-damaged smoker.

"That institutional knowledge," he told Patch, "you can't retrain that."

At 5 p.m. tonight, you can finally try Morgan's new additions to the menu, such as the popular Philadelphia smoked brisket "cheesesteak," candied burnt ends, beef-back ribs and a new 24oz bone-in cowboy steak.

Glazier said in September that Prospect Heights has been on of his favorite neighborhoods to run a restaurant in.

"It's a great neighborhood" he said, "I've owned restaurants all over the city and even the country, and you don't get more diverse than where we are in Brooklyn. And that's what makes it so, so wonderful."

You can find Morgan's Barbecue at 267 Flatbush Ave., on the corner of St. Mark's Place.
