Prospect Heights Pharmacy Plans to Downsize, Stock More 'Upscale' Products

Kings Pharmacy on Flatbush Avenue is looking to the Upper East Side for renovation inspiration.

PROSPECT HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — By the end of the year, Kings Pharmacy on Flatbush Avenue will be half its current size, and its shelves will have been re-stocked with a more "upscale inventory," according to store manager Andy DelGaudio.

The downsizing process will begin in October, and construction will take about two months, DelGaudio told Patch. The store — located at 347 Flatbush Ave. — will stay open during construction, he said.

After the work is completed, the newly slimmed-down Kings Pharmacy will still sell "the stuff you want to find in a pharmacy," DelGuadio said. However, he said the store is "probably going to go with a more upscale inventory" — adding items like higher-end shampoos and lotions.

DelGuadio said he'll consult with management at Kings Pharmacy's sister location on the Upper East Side in Manhattan when deciding what to stock.

Until then, though, it's time to get your discount on: Nearly everything in Kings will be 30 percent off for the next several weeks, with the exception of already discounted items.

The store's landlord, RKF, is currently advertising the to-be vacant space that Kings will leave behind. Patch reached out to RKF to ask what's in store for the property, but the business didn't immediately return our call.
