BROOKLYN, NY — A popular Greenpoint bakery, known for its variety of pastries, is opening a second location in Brooklyn.

Radio Bakery, located at 135 India St., has announced that its second outpost will officially open in Prospect Heights later this year.

Located at 186 Underhill Avenue, near Sterling Place, the new bakery will take the place of the former Blue Marble ice cream shop, which shuttered at the end of last year.

Pastry chef and co-owner Kelly Mencin told Patch that the new location will follow the same business model as the Radio Bakery in Greenpoint, meaning there will be a variety of food options for customers to choose from.

"We'll be baking everything on site, and the offerings will include sweet and savory croissants, lunch sandwiches, fresh bread, coffee and espresso drinks," Mencin said.

Although few details were available on Friday, Mencin said that the new location will primarily offer grab-and-go options, potentially featuring limited indoor seating and outdoor seating available during suitable weather conditions.

An official opening date was not yet known, but Mencin hopes they will be up and running by later this summer or early fall.
