Suspect Identified in Church Avenue Shooting: NYPD
Shootings and major crimes are both up in the 67th Precinct so far this year.

EAST FLATBUSH, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for the man believed responsible for a shooting that sent a 25-year-old to the hospital on Sep. 21.
According to the NYPD, on that day, the victim was standing outside 3505 Church Ave. shortly before 11 p.m. when the suspect approached him, pulled out a gun, and fired, striking the victim in the lower left leg. Police say the victim did not know the shooter, and was not robbed.
The victim was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, while the shooter fled the scene, police said.

Detectives describe the suspect (pictured above) as a black male between 18 and 22 years old, standing about five-feet-ten-inches and weighing approximately 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatpants and a gray hooded jacket.

This shooting took place in the NYPD's 67th Precinct, which patrols East Flatbush. Through Sep. 25, major crimes in the precinct were collectively up about 4.5 percent compared to the same period last year, according to official NYPD statistics.
Shootings were up as well. A total of 48 shootings with 62 victims were recorded through Sep. 25, compared to 39 shootings with 44 victims during the same period in 2015.
