West Indian Day Parade Shooting Was Gang-Related: Report
The gunman was a gang member targeting a 16-year-old boy, police said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY — The gunman who killed one and injured four at this Monday's West Indian Day Parade was a gang member targeting a 16-year-old boy, the New York Daily News reported.
The boy was shot in the arm but survived. The act was retaliatory, police said to the Daily News.
However, parade onlooker Denzel Chan was shot in the abdomen and died shortly after. He was 25.

At yesterday's press conference, police also said they confiscated 35 other guns at the parade and that nearly all of the people arrested for the illegal guns were gang members, according to the Daily News.
