2 Cops Hurt After Queens Traffic Stop Goes Awry: NYPD

A traffic stop in Ozone Park took a turn for the worse Monday after an unruly driver raced away and dragged two cops along with them.

OZONE PARK, QUEENS — An attempted traffic stop in Ozone Park took a turn for the worse Monday after an unruly driver raced away and dragged two cops along with them, according to police.

Two police officers were trying to stop the driver just before 2 p.m. at 89th Street and 95th Avenue when the person floored it, dragging the cops down the road.

EMS rushed the officers to Long Island Jewish Hospital with minor injuries, a police spokesperson said.

The spokesperson did not have any information on why police were trying to stop the driver, who successfully fled.
