Here are the top three stories in Queens today:

1. One person was killed and another was injured during a shooting in Jackson Heights on Monday night. The incident occurred shortly after 8 p.m. in front of 94-01 37th Avenue and took the life of Gilbert Gayosso, 25. A 21-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his torso and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition. (WABC-TV)
2. The Queens Public Library announced Monday that it has closed eight of its 61 branches due to staff shortages stemming from COVID-19. The library system said the branches have been closed until further notice due to staff members testing positive. The status of the branches will be updated on its website or the public can call 718-990-0728. (Sunnyside Post)
3. Camera enforcement will begin Tuesday on the Jamaica Avenue and Archer Avenue busways in Queens. Designated areas of the avenues now only permit buses, trucks, and emergency vehicles as through traffic, and will be in effect 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Drivers could face fines between $50 and $250 if they don't comply. (Spectrum News NY1)
