Man Mugged By Group Near Queens L Train Stop: NYPD

The six-person group followed him off the train in Ridgewood and cornered him, taking his jacket, wallet, headphones and jewelry, cops say.

RIDGEWOOD, QUEENS -- Cops are searching for a group who made off with a man's jacket, wallet and other valuables after following him off a subway in Queens and mugging him.

The 24-year-old man got off the L train at Wyckoff Avenue and George Street in Ridgewood when he noticed a group of six people he didn't know follow him out of the subway around 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 19, police said.

The group - three men and three women - then attacked the man on George Street near Cypress Avenue and demanded he hand over his belongings, cops said. The group took the man's jacket, wallet, Beats headphones and gold jewelry before fleeing west on George Street.

The man suffered minor injuries from the attack but was not hospitalized, police said.

Cops described the group of thieves as three men and three women in their twenties all wearing dark clothes. The NYPD released surveillance photos of all six suspects on Monday.
