Man's Queens Stairwell Death Ruled Homicide, Police Say

QUEENS, NY — The death of a man found crumpled on the steps of an Astoria apartment building's stairwell last month has been ruled a homicide, authorities said.

The 60-year-man showed signs of trauma that indicated someone killed him, police told Patch.

They didn't immediately have information on how exactly the man died, or his name.

Police found the victim Nov. 3 after they responded to a 911 call about a man who fell down the stairs inside the building at 44th Street and 28th Avenue, authorities said.

Medics rushed the man to Mount Sinai Queens Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead, police said.

Medical examiners ruled the man's death a homicide on Sunday, officials said. There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
