QUEENS, NY — A 71-year-old motorist died after a pickup truck's driver plowed into his car in a Queens crash, police said.
The fatal Monday night crash that claimed the life Fitz H. Slowe, 71, remains under investigation, authorities said.
The crash unfolded about 8:15 p.m when a 30-year-old man driving a 2021 Dodge Ram north on Guy Brewer Boulevard slammed into Slowe's 2002 Chevy Impala at the South Conduit Avenue intersection, a police spokesperson said.

The younger motorist had blown through a red light, the New York Daily News reported, citing sources that night. Details provided Patch by an NYPD spokesperson didn't confirm this.
Both drivers were rushed by medics to Jamaica Hospital, where doctors pronounced Slowe deceased, authorities said. The 30-year-old driver was in stable condition, police said.
