  1. Two Queens neighborhoods are part of an infrastructure project geared towards avoiding potential damage from serious storm weather. Kisenna Park and Corona will have infrastructure, such as infiltration basins, installed by the city to help curve flooding. The basins will help to store the excess water during storms in these neighborhoods until torrential rain passes. The Parkchester-Bronx and East New York-Brooklyn neighborhoods are also part of the $390 million project. (Queens Patch)
  2. Flights have resumed in Queens after a nationwide Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) outage occurred at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning per an announcement from the FAA. A system failure caused the FAA to ground all flights, departing and arriving, at JFK International and LaGaurdia airports – and across the United States. Flights resumed around 9:00 a.m.(Queens Patch)
  3. A 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection to a fight which took place in Queens during a gang-related incident. The teenager has been charged with murder and assault and weapon possession during the Dec. 7 clash which left Justin Shaw, 20, dead and another wounded.
