Dad Hit By Car While Crossing Queens Street With Baby: NYPD

KEW GARDENS HILLS, QUEENS — A father was hit by a car while crossing the street with his baby in Kew Gardens Hills on Thursday morning, according to police.

A driver turning left struck the man as he crossed the intersection of Union Turnpike and 147th Street in Queens about 9:15 a.m., NYPD and FDNY officials said.

The crash knocked the man to the ground and left him with minor injuries, but the baby was unscathed, according to police.

First responders brought the father to Queens Hospital Center out of an abundance of caution, a police spokesperson said.

The NYPD gave the driver a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
