It happened around 5:45 p.m. near Mott Avenue and Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway.
According to police, two male individuals were involved in a confrontation. One of the individuals ran in the direction of NYPD officers and the other individual allegedly fired shots.

Police say it’s unclear if the shooter was aiming at the individual, the police officers or both.
The officers did not sustain any serious injuries, but a police vehicle was damaged.
No arrests have been made.
