9 Of Safest, Richest NYC Suburbs Are In Nassau: Report
Using U.S. Census, FBI and Zillow data, personal finance site GOBankingRates ranked the 20 safest and richest NYC suburbs for 2025.

NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Nine of the richest and safest NYC suburbs are located in Nassau County, according to a new report.
The personal finance site GOBankingRates set out to find which NYC suburbs combine "wealth with peace of mind."
Using the latest data from the U.S. Census, the FBI, Zillow and other sources, the study's authors ranked the 20 safest and richest NYC suburbs for 2025 — areas where "high household incomes meet low crime rates and high livability."

Nassau County has the top four destinations, starting with Rockville Centre, which it says is atop the list based on the strength of its AreaVibes livability score, low rates of property and violent crime. The annual household income is $202,500.
Just a notch below is Lynbrook at number 2, with violent crimes at .75 (per 1,000) and property crimes at 4.71 (per 1,000). The annual household income is $170,600.

Long Beach is ranked third. The study finds that the city has a livability score is tied for fourth best among suburbs in the top 20. The average household income is $154,000, while the cost of living is $90,500.
Standing at number 4 is Garden City, where violent crimes are at .26 (per 1,000). The annual household income is $293,000.
