Get Into Nature at The Center for Science During School Break
Nature and science activities include crafts, scavenger hunts, bug hikes and more from April 12 to 19

Spring is the ideal time to get back into nature and there is no better place than the Center for Science, located at the Tanglewood Preserve in Rockville Centre. During the school break, students will enjoy 'Nature Festival’ in the Center’s Dinosaurs! exhibit and the 11-acre Tanglewood preserve. Children and families will enjoy creating their own nature arts and crafts projects to take home. For those who want to see nature up close, there will be scavenger hunts, bug hikes and pond scooping. The Center’s science educators will explain the local environment and the plants and animals that we share it with.
The Nature Festival will take place from Saturday, April 12 to Saturday, April 19 (Closed on Wednesday, April 16). All activities are included with exhibit admission. Tickets are $12 for children ages 2-13, $15 for children and adults ages 14 and up and $12 for seniors over 65. Each ticket includes entry to the exhibit along with participation in nature crafts and activities. Tickets are purchased at the door.
“At The Center for Science, we are always looking for ways to create innovative and fun learning experiences for families. Spring is a time when the Tanglewood Preserve comes to life. There are many plants, animals and insects to see and learn about. We also have dozens of animals including lizards, snakes, birds and turtles in our exhibit that young people can get to know and interact with. The Center for Science is the perfect day trip for parents looking to stimulate the curiosity of their children,” said Dr. Ray Ann Havasy, Executive Director of The Center for Science.
