A $125,000 grant will be used to install a new irrigation system.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY — A $125,000 grant has been secured to make upgrades at Park Circle in New Hyde Park.
Money will be used to install a new irrigation system. It comes after residents have sought requested more trees and better landscaping for the park.
The grant, announced by North Hempstead Town Councilwoman Christine Liu, was originally procured through Assemblywoman Gina Sillitti’s office.

Discussions with the community have already highlighted benches, lighting and a center gazebo as potential additions.
"Park Circle is nestled right in the heart of a residential neighborhood in New Hyde Park, so it’s important that any upgrades to the area reflect the vision, needs and priorities of the Park Circle community," Liu said. "It would be detrimental to the character of the community to make unilateral decisions without their input.”
