I-287 Tractor-Trailer Rollover In Rye Sends Truck Driver To Hospital

RYE, NY — A frightening crash on a Westchester County interstate-highway made the morning commute a test of patience, but remarkably, no serious injuries were reported.

Early Wednesday morning, around 5:30 a.m., New York State Police troopers responded to a rollover tractor-trailer crash on I-287 eastbound, on the Exit 12 ramp to I-95 northbound, in Rye.

For most of the morning, I-287 remained closed at the ramp, while eastbound traffic was diverted to I-95 south.

The closure continued while crews removed the crashed vehicle and debris, and repaired the damaged guardrail.

Westchester County emergency medical services took the driver of the tractor-trailer to Stamford Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

All lanes, including the Exit 12 diversion, were opened later in the morning.

The investigation into the crash in ongoing, according to New York State Police.
