Section Of Purchase Street To Be Closed For 3 Weeks
The closure is necessary because of emergency sewer main replacement work.
RYE, NY — Getting to your favorite lunch spot will take a little extra planning for the next few weeks.
The City of Rye announced that part of Purchase St. will be closed, starting May 6, for work related to the Locust Ave. sewer main replacement. It is estimated that this work will take three weeks to complete.
The closure will be from Boston Post Rd. (Square House) to Smith St. The work will take place on both Locust Ave. and Purchase St. between 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with the road scheduled to re-open to traffic in the evenings.

During work hours, the street will be open to pedestrian traffic only.
It is requested that posted detours in the area are followed.
