RYE, NY — A wrong-way collision on the Hutch overnight sent six to the hospital, one with serious life-threatening injuries.

Westchester County Police said they are investigating the two-car collision involving a wrong-way driver that happened around 12:10 a.m. Monday, on the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway in Rye Brook.

The driver of the wrong-way vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash and was taken to Westchester Medical Center, according to police. Five occupants of the other vehicle were also taken to Westchester Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The collision occurred near Lincoln Ave. The northbound Hutch remained closed for hours in that area and traffic was diverted off the parkway onto Lincoln Ave.

The crash is under investigation by the Westchester County Police Department Accident Investigation Team and detectives from the General Investigations Unit.
