Boy, 15, Struck By Car And Seriously Injured On Long Island: Police

He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, Suffolk police say.

SELDEN, NY — A 15-year-old boy riding a bicycle was struck by a car and seriously injured in Selden on Thursday night, Suffolk police said.

He was riding his bicycle southbound across Middle Country Road at the intersection of Marshall Drive when he pedaled in front of a westbound 2018 Nissan Altima and was struck just before 10 p.m., according to police.

He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition, police said, adding that the driver of the Nissan, a 26-year-old Mount Sinai resident, was not injured.

The Altima was impounded for a safety check, police said.

The investigation is continuing, according to police.
