Brookhaven Seeking Nominations for Outstanding Volunteers

Honorees will be selected by the Brookhaven Youth Bureau and recognized for their volunteer work with young people.

The Town of Brookhaven’s Youth Bureau and the Brookhaven Youth Board are seeking nominations for individuals and groups who deserve recognition for volunteer work with Brookhaven’s young people.  The honorees will be recognized at the Bureau’s 32nd Annual Volunteer Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 9th at 7:00 p.m. at Brookhaven Town Hall (1 Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY).

“For over 30 years, the Youth Bureau has recognized hundreds of individuals and groups for their dedication to Brookhaven youth,” said Supervisor Mark Lesko, in a statement. “This year’s honorees will join a prestigious group of volunteers who have spent countless hours making a significant impact on the lives of so many young people.”

If you know someone who you believe should be recognized for his or her efforts, either individually or as a group, please call or write to the Youth Bureau for a nomination form. Nomination forms can also be downloaded at www.brookhaven.org in the “You Should Know” section. For more information, or to request a form by phone, call the Youth Bureau at 631-451-8011.
