BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk's first responders handled a variety of incidents last week, according to the department's logs.

BELLPORT

One resident of a group home on Martha Avenue punched another in the face on Dec. 4, police said. No charges were filed. Further details were not available.
EAST PATCHOGUE

A 35-year-old East Patchogue man was charged with third-degree unlawfully fleeing an officer in Central Islip on Dec. 2 just before midnight, police said. He was additionally charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Further details were not available.
FARMINGVILLE
- Jewelry was reported taken from a home on Horseblock Road in Farmingville between 9:50 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 4, police said.
- A roommate told police that their roommate's father damaged their property at a home on Brentwood Avenue in Farmingville on Dec. 4.
MASTIC
A 51-year-old Mastic man was charged with second-degree menacing after threatening another man with a kitchen knife on Hampton Avenue on Dec. 6, police said.
PATCHOGUE
A Patchogue man was arrested after police say he was under the influence of alcohol and fled an officer in a traffic stop just before crashing his vehicle into a building on Dec. 2.
Just before 2 a.m., the man was speeding along the middle lane of westbound Main Street, and then bolted from an officer trying to get him to pull over, before crashing into a building at the corner of West Main Street and Railroad Avenue, police said.
He was charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer, and driving while intoxicated, according to police.
Online court records show the man, who pleaded not guilty, had his license suspended, and he was released without bail.
RIDGE
A debit card that was swiped from an unlocked vehicle at a Sally Lane home in Ridge was used at a local Stop and Shop on Dec. 7, police said. A wallet containing the card, and a driver's license were also stolen. The crime has been classified fourth-degree grand larceny.
RONKONKOMA
- A vehicle parked at the Clarion Hotel on Veterans Memorial Highway caught fire just before 11 a.m. on Dec. 4, police said.
- Cash was reported swiped from a home on Collington Drive at around 5:24 p.m. on Dec. 6, according to police.
SHIRLEY
A Mastic man grabbed a boxcutter and pointed it at a person inside Stop and Shop in Shirley on Dec. 2, police said. The 44-year-old was charged with second-degree menacing with a weapon.
