Day 6 Of No Power For 35,000 PSEG Long Island Customers
Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said PSEG had broken a promise to restore all outages by Saturday.

LONG ISLAND, NY – It's day six in the dark during a pandemic summer for 35,000 PSEG Long Island customers.
PSEG said Sunday afternoon that it expects to have most customers restored by the end of day, with some jobs moving into Monday.
"While we have made steady progress overnight, we are finding that each job is requiring more work than anticipated due to the extent of the storm’s damage," PSEG said, citing more than 5,000 fallen trees or large limbs on the island following Tuesday's tropical storm.

Residents and elected officials are done with the excuses, though.
"It is unacceptable that I am hearing from so many residents that are still without power, even though PSEGLI had promised to restore power by Saturday," Nassau County Executive Laura Curran said in a statement.

On Thursday night, PSEG said about 85 percent of its customers would have power restored by the end of the day Friday with the reminder back up by Saturday.
That timeline has been pushed back several times since then and by noon Sunday, PSEG still had not restored power to 85 percent of the 420,000 customers impacted by the storm.
Sports talk radio host Mike Francesa, who lives on Long Island, said his home lost power on Friday, three days after the storm.
"LIPA was a complete joke," Francesa wrote on Twitter. "PSEG promised better and has failed to deliver. Nothing but excuses. This is in no way an indictment of the men in the field. This is a management and leadership problem. And it never gets fixed."
