
A person was struck by a train early Wednesday, the Long Island Rail Road said.
Service on the Ronkonkoma Branch has been "suspended in both directions between Brentwood and Ronkonkoma due to an unauthorized person on the tracks being struck by a non-passenger train west of Ronkonkoma Station," the LIRR said in a tweet at 12:43 a.m.
The status of the person who was struck is unknown at this time.
