Leaders in the Sachem community visited the school April 28 for the school's first "Readers are Leaders" event.

Leaders in the Sachem community visited Tamarac Elementary School on April 28 for the school’s first “Readers are Leaders” event. Leading up to the event, students participated in activities and a spirit week centered around literacy. The culmination was inviting several professionals to the building including local politicians, administrators, lawyers and news anchors for a day filled with read alouds and interactive presentations.

Community members from various professions shared what their job entails while answering questions from students. Then, the leaders shared books with classes to demonstrate their love for literature. It was a wonderful way to show Tamarac students how leaders are readers and how readers are leaders.
