Stony Brook Ambulance Carrying Patient, EMS Workers Struck In Centereach: Cops

The two EMS workers, their patient, and the driver of the sedan, were all taken to an area hospital for treatment, Suffolk police said.

CENTEREACH, NY — A Stony Brook University Hospital ambulance that was carrying two emergency medical services workers and a patient was struck by a sedan in Centereach on Tuesday afternoon, Suffolk police said.

The ambulance was traveling through the intersection of Nesconset Highway and Nicolls Road at about 3:30 p.m., when it was struck by a sedan that was also traveling through the intersection, according to police.

The two workers, as well as the patient in the ambulance, and the driver of the sedan, were all taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
