Hearney began the day by welcoming all new staff to the district. He, along with all attending staff, then congratulated those in the district who had children, got engaged or got married recently as well as those who received tenure or hit major milestones of 20, 25 or 30 years in the district.
Continuing the great news, Bayport-Blue Point High School office assistant Rosetta Arpino was named Employee of the Year and Blue Point Elementary teacher Christine Monahan was named Teacher of the Year during the conference.

To conclude the day, Dr. Hearney hosted a game of BBP “Jeopardy!” featuring teams of administrators and staff members. In this friendly quiz competition, staff members were asked to guess the answers to fun facts about many Bayport-Blue Point colleagues for points. The game focused on the importance of connections, proving both how well many of the staffers knew one another and how many interesting things there still were to learn about one another.
