3 Ducklings Trapped In Smithtown Sewer Saved By Firefighters

The ducklings were brought to Sweetbriar Nature Center for rest and care following the rescue.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Three ducklings trapped in a sewer were rescued by members of the Smithtown Fire Department on Saturday afternoon.

Rescue 9 and Engine 5 responded around 1:30 p.m., assessed the situation, and safely rescued the trio of ducklings, said Rick Torre, public information officer for the fire department. The ducklings were then brought to Sweetbriar Nature Center for some much-needed rest and care.

"Great job, team!" the fire department stated.
