4 Booster Club Athletes Honored By Smithtown Board Of Education
"These student-athletes represent the best of the best as to what our athletic programs can offer," the athletic director said.

SMITHTOWN, NY — Four student-athletes in the Smithtown Central School District were named Smithtown Booster Club Student Athletes of the Year, the district announced.
Emma Cawley and Ryan Rooney from Smithtown High School East, and Laura Luikart and Jack LaPrarie from Smithtown High School West, were recognized at the Board of Education meeting held Tuesday.
"These student-athletes represent the best of the best as to what our athletic programs can offer," Jason Lambert, athletic director of the district, told the board. "These athletes have been recognized not only based on their individual prowess but also what they can bring into their programs to help their teams become successful."

Cawley was a three-sport athlete at Smithtown East and will attend Marist in the fall.
Rooney was a star for the High School East football and lacrosse teams and will play lacrosse
at Sacred Heart University in the fall.

At High School West, Luikart was a three-sport athlete, starring in field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. She will play lacrosse at Pace University.
LaPrarie was one of the most dominant wide receivers in Suffolk County for both of his varsity seasons at High School West. He was also voted All League, All County and was selected as the booster club MVP for baseball. He will play football this fall at Stony Brook University.
