6 New Eagle Scouts Are Minted Among Smithtown Boy Scouts
State Sen. Mario Mattera presented each of the Eagle Scouts with proclamations.

SMITHTOWN, NY ā Smithtown Boy Scout Troop 349 minted six new Eagle Scouts to their ranks earlier this week at the Nesconset Fire Department earlier this week.
John Campbell Gemmell, Zachary James Wynne, Andrew Pawlak, Kevin G. Zanfardino, Nicholas Conte and Zachary Connor Sanger were presented a signed proclamation to memorialize the event Wednesday by state Sen. Mario Mattera of Smithtown in front of friends, family and leaders of the boy scout troop.
āThese young men are role models for their peers and for our community and I wish them all the best in the coming years,ā Mattera said. āI hope their parents and those who helped them on the way are proud of this accomplishment since their guidance has led to this moment. Congratulations to John, Zachary, Andrew, Kevin, Nicholas and Zachary on your very impressive achievements.ā

The troop holds meetings during the school year from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at Great Hollow Middle School in Nesconset, located at 150 Southern Blvd.
