⢠Man Crashes Corvette, Stolen From New Jersey, Into Guardrail On Long Island Expressway: Police (patch.com) ā Smithtown-based Suffolk detectives helped uncover that a Corvette crashed on the Long Island Expressway near Ronkonkoma had been reported stolen from a New Jersey dealership just hours earlier. Police say a 20-year-old Farmingville man fled the scene, was quickly caught, and now faces multiple charges, including possession of stolen property and driving while impaired by drugs.

⢠Car crashes into East Setauket Pond Park during snowstorm (tbrnewsmedia.com) ā A 28-year-old Smithtown resident was injured when his car slid off snowy Route 25A and crashed near East Setauket Pond Park, snapping a telephone pole and downing wires. He was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, while nearby businesses briefly lost power until a neighbor supplied a generator to keep one building running in the frigid temperatures.

⢠Garden City Girls Varsity Volleyball makes history (gcnews.com) ā Smithtown Eastās powerhouse girls volleyball team is highlighted as a top-10 New York State opponent that pushed Garden City in the Long Island championship match. Garden City rallied from an early deficit to win that title, then advanced all the way to the state finals, capping a record-breaking 23ā1 season filled with individual honors and historic firsts.
