Another Year of Eligibility for Former West Lax Star Rob Pannell

Rob Pannell was granted another year of eligibility by the Ivy League, according to a laxmagazine.com report.

Former Smithtown lacrosse star and current Cornell University player Rob Pannell has been granted a fifth year of eligibility.

According to a laxmagazine.com report, the Ivy League approved the fifth year of eligibility for Pannell and he will return to the team in 2013. Pannell was sidelined after breaking the fifth metatarsal – pinky toe – on his left foot in the March 3 matchup against Army.

“Our coaching staff is ecstatic that Robert and his family have decided that it is in his best interest to pursue this course of action,” said Ben DeLuca, Cornell's lacrosse coach. “Robert is one of the best leaders and students that I’ve had the privilege to work with during my time at Cornell. He is a tremendous role model both on and off the field and he has been a phenomenal ambassador for the sport of lacrosse, the Cornell Lacrosse family, our University and the Ivy League.”
