Athletic Field Renovations At Smithtown High Schools In The Works
New infield turf is being laid at the baseball and softball fields, while the track will also be renovated. Other upgrades are in the works.
SMITHTOWN, NY — Both Smithtown high schools' sports facilities are getting a revamp.
The turf renovations on the athletic fields are shaping up at Smithtown High School West. The turf renovation is included in the Smithtown Central School District bond project and should be completed by the end of 2022, in time for spring athletics, according to the district. The Smithtown High School West track will also be renovated after graduation because of winter weather conditions.
Smithtown High School East renovations for the baseball, softball and the main stadium will be installed after the spring, the district said.
