SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — Carrabba's Italian Grill has washed away its Long Island footprint, closing its only two locations on the island: in Smithtown and Central Islip.

Both locations were removed from the Carrabba's website.

"Deciding to close a restaurant is never easy," Elizabeth Daly, a spokeswoman for Carrabba's, told Patch. "This was a business decision and is not a reflection of the management or staff. We appreciate the community’s support over the years."
