Catherine Hastings, Legal Secretary, Dies

Smithtown resident Catherine Hastings has died. She was 86 years old.

According to a Newsday obituary, Hastings, a Smithtown transplant by way of Queens, passed away on Sept. 16. Hastings, a Grover Cleveland High School valedictorianand and Katherine Gibbs College Graduate, was a legal secretary for the law firm Shearman & Sterling, and also worked in the Development Office at St. Anthony's High School.

Visiting was held Monday fom 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Monday at the Branch Funeral Home, and the funeral mass was held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Infant Jesus R.C Church in Port Jefferson.
