Cereal Box Challenge Raises Food Donations At Tackan Elementary In Nesconset
The boxes were donated to local food pantries and shelters that serve families experiencing food insecurities.

NESCONSET, NY — In honor of Jacque LePrairie and Claudia Chandler, beloved physical education teacher and art teacher in the Smithtown Central School District, 302 boxes of cereals were collected by students and school staff, and donated to local food pantries and shelters that serve families experiencing food insecurities, the Smithtown School District announced.
The drive was coordinated by Tackan Elementary School social worker, Kerryann Stewart, and the Tackan Cares Community service club.
As a culmination to the event, the cereal boxes were lined through the hallways and knocked down like dominoes.
