Here are the top four stories today in Smithtown:

  1. Smithtown will be the backdrop of the movie Christmas Eve in Miller's Point. Producers Eric Berger and Tyler Taormina are both from the Smithtown area. It will be the first time they will have their native town as one of their production locations. The movie starts shooting in February. (Smithtown Matters)
  2. A maple syrup/sugar class will be hosted on Hoyt Farm Nature Preserve in Commack. Classes are open for all interested in learning the ancient process passed down by Native Americans.   3. Congratulations to Smithtown High School East senior Holy Mary Zaher for being one of the 300 students across the country elected a scholar in this year's Regeneron Science Talent Search.   4. Stony Brook FoodLab is offering small-scale farming programs in 2023!
