The Circus Is Coming: National FLIP Circus Heads To Smith Haven Mall
The vintage-inspired circus show will be at the Lake Grove mall starting May 20, and will feature five performers who fled Ukraine.
LAKE GROVE, NY — FLIP Circus is a modern circus show that's inspired by the long traditions of American circuses, the company says. The national show is coming to Long Island on May 20, and will be parked at the Smith Haven Mall in Lake Grove until May 30.
The show takes place in a traditional red-and-white-striped big circus tent and features clowns, acrobats, jugglers and daredevils. A quintet called Bingo Troupe hails from Ukraine, and performers recently fled on foot to Poland to escape the war-torn country and make it to the United States to star in the show.
Just like in traditional big tent circuses all seats are close to the stage, and no further than 50 feet from the performers, FLIP Circus says.
