LAKE GROVE, NY — Suffolk County police detectives believe the person who fatally struck a pedestrian in Lake Grove this weekend was driving a 2006 to 2007 dark gray Honda Accord, the department announced.

The department sent a photo of a similar car to reporters and requested the public's help finding the driver wanted for the hit-and-run that killed Sampada Aduulla, 24, of Lake Grove.

Aduulla was crossing Nesconset Highway, near Hallock Road, when she was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound at 6:20 a.m. Saturday, police said. The motorist kept driving, and Aduulla was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
