E-Bike Rider Seriously Hurt In Suffolk Crash Saturday: Police
The crash took place in Lake Grove, police say.
LAKE GROVE, NY — An e-bike rider was seriously hurt in a Lake Grove crash Saturday afternoon, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place on Burr Lane at Moriches Road at 1:45 p.m.
A woman, 79, of Port Jefferson Station, who was driving a 2017 Hyundai Sonata eastbound on Burr Lane, attempted to make a lefthand turn onto northbound Moriches Road when the vehicle collided with a 2025 Surron e-bike that was traveling westbound on Burr Lane, police said.

Nicholas Florio, 23, of Deer Park, was ejected from the e-bike; he was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious physical injuries, police said.
The driver of the Hyundai Sonata was transported to the same hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks; anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452.
