Ethan Hawke Attends the Hamptons International Film Festival with BLUE MOON
Ethan Hawke talks about BLUE MOON at the Hamptons International Film Festival

Actor, writer, and filmmaker Ethan Hawke was the featured guest at this year’s Hamptons International Film Festival, taking part in the Festival’s acclaimed A Conversation With… series—an annual highlight that brings audiences up close with some of the industry’s most celebrated artists.
Hawke attended the Festival for the U.S. premiere of Blue Moon, his ninth collaboration with director Richard Linklater. In the film, Hawke delivers what critics are already calling a career-defining performance as legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart. Set on the evening of March 31, 1943, the story follows Hart as he confronts his fading confidence in Sardi’s bar while his former partner, Richard Rodgers (played by Fleabag’s Andrew Scott), celebrates the triumphant opening night of Oklahoma!. With Margaret Qualley and Bobby Cannavale in supporting roles, the film evokes the nostalgic glow of mid-century New York and explores fame, friendship, and the bittersweet nature of time.
Over his nearly forty-year career, Hawke has built one of the most diverse résumés in American film, with acclaimed performances in Training Day, Boyhood, the Before trilogy, and First Reformed. His turn as abolitionist John Brown in The Good Lord Bird further cemented his reputation as one of the most fearless and versatile actors working today.
