- The Smithtown Patch would like to republish the following event with the correct date: The Smithtown Menorah Ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the Town Hall in Smithtown. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. Supervisor Wehrheim hosts the event with live music, free donuts, and a gelt drop as a gift from the Smithtown Fire Department. (Smithtown Gov.)
- The St. James Winter Walk features live music on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 3 to 9 p.m. The Smithtown School District Music Department and St. Philip and James Choir will perform during the event. Santa Claus will be at Celebrate Park. (All Events)
- The holiday season is an excellent time to seek ways to make life better for those around us. Ava's Wreaths fundraiser was created four years ago by Ava McKiernan, who wants to help homeless veterans on Long Island. The wreaths are sold for $15 each, with all proceeds donated to institutions on the Island. (Long Island News12)
- Nearby News: Police are investigating a car crash on Nicolls Road in Stony Brook. A man driving a 2009 Mercedes Benz was taken to Stony Brook Hospital in serious condition after losing control of his vehicle and crashing into construction equipment off the roadway. Another driver was involved in the accident but was not injured. (TBR News Media)
