ST. JAMES, NY ā When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
"She was one of the first nurses to volunteer to work in the COVID unit and has been there the whole time. She was so upset about about the lack of personal protective equipment that she put a shout out on social media to get supplies for her unit, and people started sending extra supplies they had."
What's one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?
"Nicole is a fighter who cares so much about her patients and co-workers, that she is willing to go above and beyond to help keep them safe while providing the best care she can."
