Gobs Of Gluten Free Goodies At Gargulio's Bakery

For more than seven years St. James's Gargulio's Bakery has baked up gluten free goodies providing a tasty alternative for those who have an intolerance to gluten.

The range of choices is significant, from cakes and cookies to breads and pizza dough.

"We started with cookies and pies and then started doing custom cakes, cream puffs, cupcakes, white and raisin breads. We bake a lot," said Rebecca Davidson who works at the shop.

Owner Mike Gargulio said he just acclimated to it.

"I removed the gluten and added the flours and the xanthan gum I am still a little nervous when I make a vanilla cake. I want to make sure it tastes good," he said.

All items are made in the store and Gargulio said he has a specific area for gluten free baking and tries to keep everything as separate as possible.

It seems the care has created a loyal following.

"We have customers on a list who we call on the days we bake our bread so they can come in and get if fresh," said Davidson.
