Wall-E is an "incredibly affectionate fella who absolutely adores people," according to the shelter.
"This boy is the ideal companion for those who don't mind a furry pal who enjoys lap naps, a good petting behind the ears and neck, and infinite cuddles…too much attention is never enough for this guy," shelter staff stated. "Resisting the serenade of his endearing purr and gentle nature is nearly impossible. Wall-E adores kitty toys and will keep you entertained for hours with his playful antics. He’s truly every cat lover’s dream; a sweet companion ready to bring endless joy and lasting memories to the lucky family that welcomes him home."

Wall-E would thrive in most homes, including those with kids, cats, and calm dogs, the shelter stated.
"He is FIV+; therefore, he needs a family committed to keeping him as an indoor cat," the shelter wrote.
If you are interested in meeting Wall-E, please fill out an application to schedule time to properly interact with your prospective soul mate in a domestic setting.
There are currently a variety of male and female cats and kittens available to adopt or foster.
"If you are looking for a fun-loving, yarn-tossing ball of love, stop by the Kitten Nursery or the Cat Condos at the Smithtown Animal Shelter and find a PURR-fect soulmate or two," the shelter stated.
All of the felines at the shelter are current on vaccines and have received a full workup (blood work, Feline HIV & Leukemia tested, physical exam etc.) by a board-certified veterinarian.
Hours are currently Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays and Wednesday evenings are by appointment only.
The Smithtown Animal Shelter's primary concern is finding the perfect home for each animal that finds his/her way to it. The Animal Control Officers and kennel attendants at the Smithtown Animal Shelter will go out of their way to ensure both the rescued and rescuer are made for one another. If you have other pets, you can arrange to bring your four-legged family member into the shelter or they can set up an at-home meet & greet to see how your prospective new addition does with other family members, pets or the household itself.
The shelter is also seeking foster volunteers. Foster parents provide temporary care for cats, kittens and dogs in their own homes. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for an extended time.
